We're Not In Trouble

A few months ago I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, That Sounds Fun by Annie F Downs and the guy she was interviewing said something that made me pause, rewind and repeat a section several times so I could write it down and not forget it.

Go ahead and read that a couple of times. . .I'll wait.

I'm not going to deny that the world we live in is hot mess. But this world is NOT our home.

14 For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. Hebrews 13:14

I won't try to argue that days are uncertain and full of struggles. But these days do not tell the whole story.

17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

I will stand on the promises of God that the Kingdom of God is unmovable and unshakeable.

28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. 29 For our God is a devouring fire. Hebrews 12:28-29

Therefore I can stand in full confidence as one in whom Christ delights and dwells and know that God's got me and I am not alone nor will I fear what my eyes see because my faith is in the unseen. And one day, every eye will behold Him, and every tongue will confess His name, and every knee will bow in the presence of my Jesus.

Until then, I rest in the promises of my King.
