I am from the metro-east St. Louis area. That means a few things. . .in no particular order. . .
1. I love toasted rav
2. Gooey Butter Cake is amazeballs
3. BBQ Porksteaks are bomb
4. We go to the STL Zoo often because it's the best
5. We love Grant's Farm
6. We take walks down Washington
7. I have been up in the Arch
8. I know humidity well
9. STL Cardinals🔥⚾️
10. STL BLUES🔥🏒

Like it or not, our area is a hotbed for sports rivalries and heated discussions about which team is better, STL or Chicago...sometimes Kansas City is thrown into that debate as well. If there is one thing that is extremely true, it is that STL fans are die-hard loyal. We get frustrated and pout but we ain't goin' nowhere. And game 6 of the Stanley Cup playoffs is proof. As the seconds ticked off the clock and it was clear the Bruins were going to take the game in a 5-1 win over the Blues, fans stood and chanted, "WE WANT THE CUP!" over and over again.
Why?
Because there is one more game. Because we don't give up. Because the fat lady isn't singing yet. Because our road record is pretty decent. Because it's our time.
So, although I will be at church tonight introducing a new Bible study when the puck drops, I will be pulling for the guys with the note on their chest. Blue shirt, blue jeans, blue nails, blue earrings...just doing my part!
