I am hearing many say they have never seen days like this before. I know I have never. There is so much uncertainty and fear. There is so much hope and assurance.

Yes. I know what I just wrote. But it is true!

Please hear me out.

I am in no downplaying the situation. I believe that there is reason for caution and concern. I also believe this is an amazing opportunity for The Church to rise up and be THE CHURCH that God has called us to be.

Let’s be the people who love well, put others first, and live out the gospel of Jesus Christ for the world to see. Let’s live out the scriptures that tell us to care for others, to lay hands on the sick and in faith believe for healing, let’s allow the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to guide us and let’s use good judgement as well.

This weekend many churches are in areas where the government has suspended gatherings in effort to slow down the potential spreading of Covid-19. I am friends with many of the pastors who are doing what the Bible says and are obeying the laws of the land while still honoring the call to gather by hosting their services all online.

The Church I lead is in a state where public gatherings of 250 or more have been asked to not meet. We do not fall in that category and because we are in a county that still has zero confirmed cases, we are meeting in our physical location as well as streaming as usual. I suspect that many will choose to stay home and I understand that concern and desire to be safe. It’s ok.

Can I just encourage, again, to be safe while not being led by fear. Dive into scripture and see what God has to say about all of this. And then go live it out.

The gas crisis is probably the closest to this I have seen in my lifetime.
