One week since you elected me

Eight days since I shared the news

Okay. For real. It has already been one full week since the vote that placed me in the lead role at our church.

I have been asked by many how it feels. There is only one word that can come close to describing how I feel.

Surreal.

Some moments I realize I am functioning and doing things I don’t know that I had ever thought of before and then the next I am back to sitting in the reality that is my new path and journey.

It is blowing my mind that I get to be the one who is responsible for casting vision and leading a group of God’s people to grow in their depth of knowledge of who God is and what He wants to do through us to be His hands and feet in our community. I‘m the chairman of the board, the boss, the lead pastor.

Ya’ll...I am my dad’s boss...MY BRAIN CANNOT COMPUTE.

I am super excited and even though there are those in this world who love it if I would just be quiet, sit down and simply go home, I will continue to do my best to stay faithful to the work I KNOW that God has called me to and is equipping me for.
