More than Monday

Lorelai Gilmore knows.

Monday’s can be rough, fam. But, they can also be the stuff of epiphanies. I can't be the only person who has moments of deeper contemplation on Monday mornings...right? It isn't uncommon for me to wake more contemplative than normal on a Monday. Almost as if preaching on Sunday just does something to me that makes more aware of my thoughts and my need for Jesus. And then sometimes those thoughts sort of take me down a rabbit hole.

This morning we started a new Bible plan in the Bible App as a church. The plan is through the book of Jude and is by Jackie Hill Perry. Day one centered around verse 24.

“Now to him who is able to protect you from stumbling and to make you stand

in the presence of his glory, without blemish and with great joy,”

First of all, woah. What a powerful verse that is full of hope and promise!

Second, immediately verses that begin with the same phrase came to mind.

So of course I had to write it in my journal. I don't want to ever forget that He is MORE THAN able to keep me, protect me, strengthen me, equip Me, empower me, and call me to be a voice that preaches, proclaims, the "mystery" of hope, life and eternity!

I can't lie and say that I believe I have it all together in this season because, truth be told, as I am sure you have, I feel all the things right now. Fatigue in mind, body, and soul. Uncertainty and doubt in many areas. I pray daily and in that prayer is a cry for wisdom and discernment but I don't no that I have ever prayed harder for wisdom than I have the past few months because I have had to make more decisions than ever before in my life! But then to read, "Now to Him who is able..." Friends! The sentence can stop there and it would be enough!

As the day winds to a close and you are preparing for bed (or maybe for work or whatever), can I just encourage you to refocus and spend some time with the One who is Able to do immeasurably more than you could ask or think for the strength and endurance that only He can bring so that you may accomplish all that He has for you and receive all He desires to pour into you.
