Intentionality.

For the past few weeks I have wanted to write so many things, to share so many thoughts and experiences. But none of it felt like the right thing to say. So I didn't. Not here anyway. To be honest, I know that more people will read the caption on my Instagram picture or my Facebook status so that's pretty much where my thoughts have taken place.

See, it doesn't seem like best use of my platform to share the cute picture we got a racoon on our last "exploration" adventure as a family. I am not sure that writing about the new hair cut fits the narrative right now.

The only thing I can muster is heartache and a repentant heart for the apathy I have unknowingly carried around for others. I am an advocate in the fight against human trafficking but oppression has many faces. So today, I am elevating a few voices by sharing in one list what I have been listening to lately and maybe it will help you as well. Disclaimer: While the majority of these resources are faith based, not all of them are. Specifically the movies and documentaries and the link for books at the end may contain language or other content.

Oneness Embraced by Dr. Tony Evans--there is also a series in RightNow Media

Annie and Eddie Keep Talking - Specifically this episode with Latasha Morrison

That Sounds Fun with Annie F. Downs-Annie has been elevating voices of PoC for a long time but even more so right now. Steven Furtick and John Gray

TD Jakes - The Church and Race

Reading plans in the Bible App: Be The Bridge, Oneness Embraced, The Power of Unity, Tony Evans Explores Racial Reconciliation, BibleProject | Justice, Love is a Person. But there are several more that I'll complete.

Movies/Documentaries: Just Mercy--free rental right now on Amazon Prime, Google Play, YouTube and iTunes. The Rape of Recy Taylor on Hulu and also free on Amazon Prime.

Here is a link to find a plethora of FREE ebooks to help us learn more about the great need in our world for reconciliation. I downloaded Twelve Lies That Hold America.

Let me also encourage you to please please talk to God about this. My heart is currently is a state of lament and repentance. I think I'll be here for a while.

There is a song by Lauren Daigle and the chorus sums up my heart's cry.

“Help me to lay it down O Lord I lay it down

O let this be where I die My Lord with Thee crucified Be lifted high as my kingdoms fall Once and for all once and for all”
