Holy Week-Tuesday

Writer: Stacey WilsonStacey Wilson

Taking the opportunity to teach, Jesus spends time with His disciples and others, using parables to explain things of the Kingdom. He teaches about deep faith and how it changes our lives and makes us powerful witnesses.

the religious leaders cannot see the reality before them, that the Messiah had come in the form of a man who does exactly what the prophecies had said. They even try to trip Him up but Jesus is onto them.

He in turn stumps them with every response He gave. “Love the Lord with all your heart,” He tells them. Love God. Love others. This is the heart of it all. Let these be your motivation and the rest of the commandments will fall into place.

But then, a twist...Jesus starts sharing about how the Son of Man must die, be glorified, and also mistreated almost simultaneously. How could this be?!? Surely He is mistaken?

A thundering voice cracks the atmosphere declaring Jesus as The Righteous One.

His stories continue—a vineyard, a stone rejected, paying taxes, resurrection, generosity, the destruction of the temple (what is this?!?). Jesus warned those listening to not be deceived but to be on guard and pay attention because persecution was coming and it would be because of Him. “Be ready to give a defense,” He said. And then He talked about coming on a cloud...can you imagine?

”Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will never pass away.”

It’s amazing how people can’t seem to get enough. Jesus captivates the attention of people...but they still don’t fully grasp what is happening. Not even the disciples do. 📖This day’s events can be read about in:

Matthew 22:23-40

Mark 12

Luke 21

John 11:47-53

And check out these prophetic messages in Isaiah 51:6 and Jeremiah 31:35-37
