Holy Week-SUNDAY

Writer: Stacey WilsonStacey Wilson

It was early on Sunday morning...the third day from His death. Mary and Mary Magdalene headed towards the tomb to finish preparing Jesus's body as tradition required. As they approached, they couldn't believe what they were seeing...Is it even possible? The stone that was sealed over the entrance was moved! The looked in and only saw the cloths that had been wrapped around Jesus. Then a man in bright garments appeared and told them to not be afraid, that Jesus was alive! He had risen, "Just as He said." They knew He had told them He would rise...is this what He meant when He taught that the temple would be destroyed but rebuilt in just three days? They turned and there He was, standing right in front of them. Jesus! He told them to go and tell the others and that He would meet them in Galilee. He made it clear that they were to tell Peter as well. So they did. They ran back to the others and told them everything!! John and Peter immediately ran. They had to see for themselves. John got to the tomb first and just looked in but Peter went in. He saw the lines laying exactly where Jesus's body had been but the piece that covered His head was folded up, laying aside.

Matthew 28:6 (YouVersion Bible App)

What does this mean?

1 Corinthians 15:20-22

20 But as it is, Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also comes through a man. 22 For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
