"Hey! Do you know your number?"

I was asked that by my best friend a few months ago. I had no idea what she was talking about and she told me about the Enneagram. At first I was a bit skeptical. I have done the DISC profile and other strength-finder/spiritual gift type things before. She sent me a link to a free test and I did it but didn't feel like I had any clear understanding of what it was about.
Flash-forward a few weeks and the host of a podcast I found ALWAYS talked about this. Every guest she interviewed she asked their number. The more I listened, the more intrigued I became. Also, another podcaster I listen to actually interviewed "Your Enneagram Coach" a couple of weeks ago and things really started to click! So I decided to look up the tests again and find one to take. I took two different free tests and each test gave me a result of three numbers. Only one number from the results was different between the two. I shared that with my friend who began to try to help me understand more and then has let me borrow her books about this.
The Road Back To You has been amazing! I am not more than half-way through it yet but I feel like I am gaining an understanding about myself and others in my life with every number I read about.
So what makes the enneagram so different from other personality type tests? It's more than just knowing your strengths. The enneagram helps you see yourself through unbiased lenses. When you're at your healthiest (clear-headed and healthy mentally) and when you're at your worst. It helps you see how you might lean one way or another because of situations or circumstances. It's like putting on glasses that expose your core and why you are the way you and areas you need to work on but in a completely non-judgemental or harsh way. Even the the sections that expose you at your worse are easy to read and helpful.

So, me, at this time (and I am NOT an expert nor have I read the entire book) based on my tests and what I am reading. I am a 2w1, although the test says I am a 2w3 but 3's are more competitive. Ask any of my friends and family. I am NOT competitive whatsoever so, I am leaning more towards the former than the latter.
One sentence from the book about a healthy 2 just seems to speak to my heart and is my prayer for myself and I do think I do this fairly well...the thing is if you knew me you would know how hard it is for me to say anything about myself like this because it feels self-serving...and that would be the 2 in me.
I digress.
"They create a comfortable, safe space for others and are often considered a friend to many."
A band by the name of "Sleeping At Last" has written songs for every number. I had heard about them a couple months ago but never went and looked until I was putting this together. I sat and listened...and cried. Nothing has ever captured and expressed my heart, my emotions, my mind or how I feel about myself quite like this.
I would love to know your number! If you know it, comment it and if you don't, then click here and take the test yourself! This is just one option. If you do a google search for "free enneagram test" you'll quickly be pointed in the direction of numerous sites.
Let's grow together!
