Dawned on us

I turned to the wrong page in my Advent book this morning and just started reading. I realized quickly that I was a day ahead but the scripture captivated me.

Sitting on the couch in the glow of the Christmas tree as the sky shifts from moon and stars to sun I think about one of the passages. The sky isn’t super bright as we have cloud cover from the impending winter storm moving in but where there was darkness we have a hint of light. Things are a bit more clear.

Isn’t that what Jesus did? He is the dawn that came and enlightened our lives!

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2 (NIV)

There is a simple subtleness to the profound entrance of Jesus.
